Do You
Have An Amazing or Humorous Dog Story?
Dog
& Kennel
is looking for amazing and unusual stories about real dogs.
If you have a story you think would qualify, why not email
us at sales@petpublishing.com
and tell us about it? We'll post the most unusual and interesting
stories we get. No more than 200 words and, of course, we
reserve the right to edit.
Frodo's
Nightly Adventure
One
night while my husband and I were sleeping, our dog Frodo
walked to the end of the bed and began crying very loudly.
At first, we thought he needed to go out again, but we reassured
each other he was taken out right before bed time. Finally,
I got out of bed. Frodo quickly jumped down after me and
followed me down the hall. By the time I got to the back
door, I noticed that Frodo was not with me. He had taken
a stop-off at the water bowl and was drinking furiously.
After I refilled his bowl the second time, Frodo began walking
down the hall, stopped, looked back to make sure I was coming,
and put his paws back on the side of the bed to get up.
My husband
and I thought that this was an unusual event that wouldn't
happen again. We were wrong. About 2-3 times a week we must
go through the same routine together. Frodo just doesn't
seem to like walking down the hall in the middle of the
night by himself. Even though we bought him a night light.
Shelley
Rankin
Nurturing
Yorkie
I have
a 2 year old Yorkshire Terrier named Debbie's Dream Priscilla.
Most of the time she is called either Prissy or Poo. She
is the apple of our eyes and she knows it. In May of this
year, my husband had a heart attack. Prissy usually sleeps
with us at the foot of the bed, under the covers. The night
of his attack though, she slept by his side and whenever
he moved, she would get closer. Now when he makes any kind
of sound, no matter where she is, she comes running to her
daddy and starts licking him all over his face. He'll tell
her he's ok, she'll stop to look at him, then start again.
It's
like she is saying I'll take care of you like you took care
of me when I was so sick. She had to have surgery for a
liver shunt at 13 weeks. She is definately our little girl
and has brought us much joy and laughter.

Tyler,
The Hungry German Shepherd
Our
German Shepherd, Tyler, has been on predisone recently because
of an illness. Tyler is a large dog, as tall as a kitchen
table and 120 pounds. The vet told us he would have a larger
than usual appetite because of the medication, but DO NOT
feed him any more than usual. I came home from work recently
and decided to make a sandwich. I searched unsuccessfully
for the loaf of bread I bought the night before which I
knew I had placed on the kitchen table. I finally settled
on something else for lunch. When heading to the mail box
for that day's mail I found the bread wrapper crumpled by
the front door, with only a heel left in the package. The
next day I came home and found that Tyler had figured out
how to pull open the kitchen drawer that we keep our snacks
in and devoured a half full bag of Frito's, some cookies
and a package of nuts! Needless to say...the kitchen is
now blocked off when Tyler is home alone!!
